Sustainable chrome tanning system using protein-based product developed from leather waste: wealth from waste

Chrome tanning is one of the popular methods followed globally that generates considerable level chromium pollution in resulting effluent. The existing conventional chrome system has to be modified increase exhaustion process. In present investigation, a protein-based product been developed from raw trimming wastes and applied process enhance chromium. experiment conducted using at 6% exhibited 93% FT-IR analysis revealed presence peaks for various functional groups, namely carboxylic acids, aldehyde, amide hydroxyl high exhaust tanning. shrinkage temperature experimental leather was found more than 100 °C. Results microscopic studies SEM–EDX enhanced adsorption up 5.24 weight percent containing with atomic 1.27 sample co-polymer. AFM images also show increased amount co-polymer solution. Increased interactions between active sites collagen complex resulted into improved as higher intensities XRD images. CD spectra addition ellipticity compared control sample. crust showed colour, organoleptic comparable strength properties leather.
